Abstract
En este trabajo se testa empíricamente la validez de una propuesta de variables contextuales que integran el ecosistema para el estudio del emprendimiento tecnológico (ET). Aplicando la metodología de datos de panel en una muestra de 65 países durante el periodo 2006-2013, los resultados muestran que factores como el financiamiento no convencional informal, la existencia de emprendedores referentes o el soporte tecnológico influyen positivamente en la creación de Nuevas Empresas de Base Tecnológica (NEBT). Por el contrario, el conocer a un emprendedor y el tamaño del mercado influyen negativamente. Estos últimos resultados, contrarios a lo que abunda en la literatura centrada en emprendimiento en general, ponen de manifiesto la necesidad de mantener una propuesta de ecosistema, y por tanto de factores, diferenciada para el ET.
