Abstract
The environment in that companies of an industry operate is a key factor regarding to the action-reaction interdependence that such companies have, in order to obtain advantages and a superior performance. In particular, the stage of the cycle of life in which the industry is, it is a relevant issue to completely understand competitive interaction due to its moderating effect over the competitive event. The cycle of life in the industry affects the way information in the action is interpreted and used to respond. This work shows empirically these differences considering competitive interaction in mature and in growth markets
