EMN is a Full Professor of Physical Chemistry specializing in theoretical and computational chemical dynamics. His training includes a PhD focused on trajectory methods and statistical rate theories, followed by postdoctoral research on high-accuracy potential energy surfaces. After holding a Ramón y Cajal position, he joined the University of Santiago de Compostela, where he progressed to Full Professor in 2023. His research spans reaction dynamics, photodissociation, non-adiabatic and accelerated dynamics methods, and gas-phase and gas–surface processes. He has held visiting positions at several international institutions, delivered over 35 invited lectures, and maintains broad national and international collaborations. He has co-supervised five PhD students, participated in 15+ competitive research projects, and contributed extensively to scientific service. A key recent achievement is the development of AutoMeKin, an automated framework for reaction mechanism discovery, with future applications in catalysis and biological systems.
