Doctor by the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela with the thesis Nonparametric inference on point processes with covariates 2018. Supervised by Dr. Wenceslao González Manteiga, Dr. María Dolores Martínez Miranda.

María Isabel Borrajo (Narón, 1989) Lecturer in the Department of Statistics, Mathematical Analysis, and Optimization (USC) and affiliated research staff at CITMAga (Center for Research and Mathematical Technology of Galicia). She obtained her Ph.D. in Mathematics in February 2018, with the thesis entitled "Nonparametric inference on point processes with covariates," under the supervision of Professors Wenceslao González-Manteiga (USC) and M. Dolores Martínez Miranda (University of Granada). She was an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Oviedo during the academic year 2017/2018. Since September 2018, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Lancaster (United Kingdom), and in 2019 she obtained a position as an Assistant Lecturer at USC. Her research focuses on two areas of Statistics: Spatial Statistics and Nonparametric Inference, where she has developed several methodologies and applications that have been published in various papers. Additionally, she actively participates in the dissemination of scientific knowledge through her involvement in fairs, conferences, workshops, and talks. She also teaches Statistics courses in various contexts, including the course on Data Visualization and Analysis with R integrated into the USC de Verán for the past few years.
