Resumo

Studying the scope and limits of individuals' moral concern is a relevant topic in many disciplines. Thus, the concept of the moral circle and the question of its expansion have been explored from psychology (Bloom, 2010; Crimston et al., 2016, 2018a, 2018b; Waytz et al., 2019; Rottman et al., 2021), philosophy (Singer, 1981, 2011) or other related disciplines. The Socio-moral Radar construct developed in the present thesis focuses on the behavioral expression of people's engagement with existing social problems and attempts to reflect the degree of moral inclusion as active citizens. Our main objective is to explore the extent and variations in people's willingness to engage with different social problems by developing an empirical instrument to measure it.
