Abstract

Career Management Skills (CMS) allow people to collect, analyze, synthesize andorganize their own, educational and occupational information in the decision-makingprocess about their training and their academic and professional transitions, beingessential to respond to the main drivers of change and current social challenges. In thispaper, a model of career management skills is presented, designed from the Erasmus +CAREERS AROUND ME Project from a comparative documentary review of some ofthe main existing models at international level. The main goal is to provide a tool thatallows managers and educational and career guidance agents to develop actions of higherquality and impact. The result is reflected in a model that includes a series of transversalcompetences in which learning outcomes with different levels of mastery are described, understanding that each person can start at a different point, progress in different phasesand return to previous stages along their trajectory if needed, depending on theirindividual characteristics and circumstances. In conclusion, this model facilitates thedesign of educational and guiding interventions that respond to the imperative ofimplementing career education programs that help participants understand the nature ofmeaningful work, their desire to achieve it and identify the causes that hinder its accessbased on their specific needs and their life context.
