Victimización de violencia sexual y mitos sobre la agresión sexual en jóvenes españoles

Resumo

Therapeutic Jurisprudence is specially focused on victimization processes. Among these, the victimization of sexual violence stands out due to its potentially harmful effects on the victim's health. The aim of this work is to analyze sexual victimization and cybervictimization in Spanish youth and to study g the acceptance of myths about sexual aggression (MSA) by the participants. In addition, the effects of gender and the moment of data collection (confinement vs. post-confinement) are considered. The study involved 377 subjects (322 women and 55 men) aged between 18 and 21 years. Sample selection was accidental. The data were collected through a battery of questionnaires that were completed online. The instruments applied were the Peer Sexual Harassment Scale that measures sexual violence, the Peer Sexual Cybervictimization/SCV scale that assesses sexual cybervictimization, and the Acceptance of Modern Myths About Sexual Aggression/AMMSA that determines the level of acceptance of MSA. The results showed, first, significantly higher victimization and cybervictimization of sexual violence in females, second, higher acceptance of MSA in males, and third, that the pandemic would appear to have no effect on the levels of victimization or acceptance of MSA. The results support the implementation of a preventive line of action aimed at men in order to reduce the incidence of MSA.
