Abstract

This communication presents a teaching experience carried out in the Physics subject of the ChemicalEngineering Degree to bring students closer to the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG5 “Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls” and SDG 7 “Ensure access to affordable,safe, sustainable and modern energy”. This experience was carried out during the second semesterof the 2021-22 academic year and aimed to bring students closer to the energy problems suffered byour society and to provide female references to students in this field, giving continuity to other activitiesthat had been carried out during the first semester. To this end, within each topic, the contributions ofwomen in the study of electricity and magnetism have been made visible through the virtual classroom,and the creation of biographical profiles in Galipedia of pioneering women in this field or related to thestudy of climate change has also been proposed to them. In addition, within the topic ElectromagneticInduction, activities have been proposed to connect the basic concepts of this topic with SDG 7, in par-ticular, the generation of electricity, the problems presented by renewable energies and energy poverty.These activities were also intended to help students develop skills such as critical thinking, which is ofgreat importance in our society, where the spread of certain hoaxes has become a problem thanks tosocial networks.
