This obituary pays tribute to Lía Schwartz. This researcher was vice president of the AISO association, held the highest representation of AIH and was considered the best host of world Hispanism in New York. He obtained his final position at the Graduate Center of the CUNY. Lía Schwartz participated in numerous conferences and seminars in many places in Spain and America. Also noteworthy is his combination of Greek, Latin and Hebrew knowledge, adapted to the newest approach of Hispanism with his doctorate at the University of Illinois (1967-1971), which facilitated a different perspective.
