Resumo

Osteonecrosis of the jaws is a bone alteration that can be induced usingdrugs indicated for the treatment of patients with osteoporosis and malignanttumors. Initially it was believed to be associated only with the useof bisphosphonates, currently it is known that it is also linked to the use ofother antiresorptive (denosumab) and antiangiogenic (bevacizumab). It isnot known what the development mechanism is and there is still no singledefined treatment protocol, but there are several papers being published on the topic. With the increasing number of cases reported, it is extremely importantthat the health professional can diagnose, identify the risks and treat this condition.
