Abstract
Introduction: For many years, implant placement was considered the best way to replace lost teeth by restoring aesthetics and function, but the long time waiting had a negative impact on the lives of patients. The initial implant protocols contraindicated immediate loading as it was always considered necessary to postpone the loading of dental implants for a period ranging between 3 and 6 months after their placement. In recent years immediate loading has gained many followers and, despite the conflicting results, there is a large body of work that supports its use. Over the past decades, numerous studies have confirmed the clinical success of this type of treatment, which has become a frequently used method for implant prostheses. The following is a case of a patient who comes to the consultation to rehabilitate the aesthetics and function of the maxilla and mandible. Several pieces in poor condition were removed and 5 immediate upper and lower implants were placed with immediate loading on the same day of surgery. The main advantage of this procedure is the reduction of treatment time due to the fewer number of surgical acts, assuming a great psychological advantage for the patient, since the implant is inserted and prosthetically rehabilitated at the same moment of extraction. (Also, the bone healing phase occurs at the same time as osseointegration).
