Resumen
The famous Herbert of Clairvaux, the author of the collection entitled Liber visionum et miraculorum (LVM), and the unknown Herbert of Sobrado, the author of an isolated Miraculum de novitio hispaniense (MNH), are considered as two different authors, thus overlooking coincidences such as the fact that they have the same name, belong to the same religious order, are strictly coetaneous, and write about the same subject matter in the same terms. Based upon the mission that could have led Herbert of Clairvaux to become abbot of Sobrado from 1180 to 1184, this article proposes that both Herberts are one and the same author, and refute the possible impediments, especially the chronological ones, to their identification.
