Resumen

The Ancares Range is a space that has great gradients and it has been affected by processes which happened during the quaternary glaciarism, factors that made the presence of landslides through the range possible. To these natural factors must be add the anthropic factor. In the 1st Century BC, the Roman Empire occupies the area and, once settled, the strip mining began, due to the presence of gold ores all over the range. The Roman mining activities involved a series of infrastructures which produced an intense erosion on the ground in a short time, generating a series of mass movements in different points of the area. The objective of this current paper is to establish a typification of the mass movements of the area, determining factors like the volume, the área or the typology, and to connect all of these factors with its different origins, to determine the impact of the natural and anthropic activity on the range and its trace on the current landscape.
