Resumo
The present thesis is an ethnographic study on how to promote the well-being of boys and girls at La Filostrrocca school. The investigation is centred on a state school for infant education in Pistoia, a city renowned for its services in early years education. The school carries out analysis of everyday routine, which may help god communication between children and adults there. The question central to the investigation is about : how to promote well-being in child education and what that means? The thesis presents a first, theoretical part, which develops the key concepts which relate to the investigation, defining what is well-being, the quality of life, what are the necessities and rights of childhood and the contexts for the development of well-being. In the second part, the chosen school is presented, together with the context and location in which the methodology is used. The third part demonstrates the analysis carried out over a long period in the said school. Firstly, specific moments in the everyday life of Filastrocca school are analysed, and detailed reflexions and considerations are taken from the perspective of well-being. It’s necessary to know the details of the every day and their significance and the protagonists who participated, from conversations, interviews, field notes, records, photographs, observations from the field. Secondly, this is complemented by a retrospective narrative, through a narratalogical study of the parameters of well-being, identified by Sabeh, Prieto, Verdugo & Contini (2009). Under these conclusions, concise answers will be given to the question of the investigation and an outcome shown, by the establishment of a binding set of rules for La Filostrocca.
