Zusammenfassung

Introduction: Dental implants have shown long-term predictable results. The biggest problem we find when we want to place an implant is when we don’t have enough bone quantity to enclose it and to have a successful result. In some cases, we have to go to regenerative techniques to rehabilitate with implants. Next, we present a case in which a female patient wants to rehabilitate the posterior mandible due to missing teeth (43, 44, 45 ad 46). The patient does not have enough bone volume to stabilize a dental implant. In a first stage, we perform a ridge expansion in which we maintain the space with micro screws and autologous bone to be able to place the implants in a conventional surgery four months later. Ridge expansion techniques have been performed for years with low morbidity and excellent results when the choice of the case is appropriate, contributing to solve complex cases with great bone resorption successfully.
