Abstract
This analysis focuses on determining the role of those factors that are exogenous to the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) model in causing a weakening in the correlation between GDP per capita and emissions (CO2 and sulphur). For this purpose, we compare the EKC model estimation, the time-effects analysis and the results of the graphic analysis. The results of a decomposition of the emissions growth rate are also included
