Resumo

Paracoccidioidom.ycosis is a systemic disease dueto infection by the dimorphic fungus Paracoccidioides brasiliensis. This communication reports the case of a 72-year-old mal e patient who had lived in a region of endemic paracoccidioidomycosis 50 years ago and consulted us on account of 6- month- old ulcerated lesions of the palate and labial mucosa. We describe the clinical characteristics and histology of the /esions, laboratory culture results, radio/ogical findings and prescribed treatment, and compare them with reports by other authors.
