Resumo
The objective of the present experiment was to study the effect of the use of different sewage sludge doses, dates of application and complement with potassium on the evolution of pasture production, botanical composition, pasture quality and soil characteristics in the establishment of a mixed sward. Treatments of fertilization applied in a sward fertilized in the spring or in the autumn were: a) three doses of sludge, 40 kg N/ha (L40), 80 kg N/ha (L80) and 120 kg N/ha (L120); b) the same sludge doses complemented with potassium (L40K, L80K y L120K); c) and no fertilized treatment (LO). The increment of sewage sludge dose originated an increase on pasture production, but the high dose originated lower nitrogen efficiency, which can lead to higher leaching and contamination. When sewage sludge was applied during the spring, the pasture production, the efficiency of sewage sludge, clover percentage and protein contení was higher than when it was applied in the autumn
