Abstract
Functioning pituitary tumours, characterized by the secretion in excess of one of the pituitary hormones, are more frequent than non-functioning pituitary tumours. Clinical features will depend on the hormone secreted in excess and could associate symptoms derived from the tumour (mass effect and/or hypopituitarism). The more frequent functioning pituitary tumours are those secreting GH, ACTH and prolactin.
