Abstract
In recent years, the relatively homogenous European societies have been acquiring an< multiethnic and multicultural character. The traditional conception of a nationality linked to a state-nation entails the social exclusion of the immigrant population, a discrimination that has impelled the discussion around a citizenship of supranational character. This paper deals with the need of a geographical and civic education that allows to construct an intercultural European identity
