Especificidad vs. Generalidad de las respuestas autonómicas en las emociones

Resumen
En este artículo, a partir de unas consideraciones introductorias, se hace una revisión, desde los orígenes de la polémica (James-Cannon) hasta la actualidad, de los principales estudios sobre el problema de la especificidad de las respuestas del SNA en la emoción, poniendo el énfasis en la presentación de los trabajos posteriores al año 1973. Una vez analizados los resultados de dichas investigaciones, se concluye que los datos disponibles son contradictorios, por lo que la evidencia experimental no apoya claramente el planteamiento de la especificidad autonómica. Por último se analizan ciertas posibilidades para explicar estos resultados y se plantean algunas cuestiones necesarias para la futura investigación en este campo.
