Resumo

El apoyo social es un constructo multidimensional con diferentes aspectos estructurales y funcionales. En la literatura aparece una gran variedad de instrumentos que intentan evaluar este constructo. Todos ellos han sido diseñados para determinadas poblaciones con unas características muy específicas por lo que nos encontramos un gran abanico de cuestionarios muy heterogéneos entre sí. El objetivo de este trabajo es revisar diferentes instrumentos de evaluación de apoyo social. Se describen 22 instrumentos clasificándolos según las dimensiones de Tardy (1985), concretando la información que ofrecen acerca de las propiedades paico-métricas de cada uno de ellos. Esta revisión mostró que los instrumentos evalúan diferentes aspectos de este constructo, y que el hecho de que las dimensiones de evaluación social que se valoran con ellos sean operativizadas de muy diversas formas dificulta el poder unificar criterios de evaluación y comparar resultados o efectos en salud del apoyo social de un modo más preciso.
