Abstract
The author deals with the episode of the Pelop's myth, in which he boils himself to attain a revival of beuty, to get married and to became a king. In this way boiling is a useful way for a boy to become an adult. This idea is based in Greek anthropological thinking: a child must be educated like the piants are grown.
