Abstract
The aim of this article is to reflect shortly on the teaching of Sign Languages as second languages for hearing people. After a general introduction on their characteristics, we make some psicolinguistic considerations about their visual-spatial modality: implication of perception, memory and execution processes; about their learning problems: hearing student's difficulties to perceive, to memorize and to execute the manual parameters and the facial components; and on the most appropriate strategies for teaching this language. Some considerations are also made on the current state of the teaching of the Spanish Sign Language.
