Abstract

We intend to provide the II International Latina Congress of Social Communication first results of a multi-year research aimed at creating a prototype platform for managing digital cultural content. The paper focuses on the conceptualization of 'platform' as a digital format and the exploration and analysis of similar experiences in the global range related to cultural platform on the internet. This analysis allowed us to develop a global map of cultural platforms relevant to public and private level, to analyze the criteria and tools used in the network, and review the type of content and resources used in cultural diffusion platforms. The project "Digital Management Platform of Galician Culture" is a multi-year research (2009-2012) the Novos Media Group, Faculty of Communication Sciences at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), is developing in collaboration with Editorial Galaxia and has a subvention of the sectorial program of applied research of the Galego Plan for Research, Development and Technological Innovation (INCITE). This project aims at designing and building a platform for the diffusion, distribution and promotion of Galician culture products through the Web.
