Abstract

The proper functioning of ventilation and heating systems in livestock farms should guarantee adequate environmental conditions, which should include, in addition to temperature, others variables, previously ignored, such as concentrations of carbon dioxide and ammonia or moisture. The adition of these variables, especially of ammonia, presents difficulties due to the cost and detection. This T.D. analyzes the internal environment of the pig farms, the environmental variables and the interaction between them, with special attention to the estimation of the ammonia concentration through others variables easier to measure by linear regression models and the establishment of patterns of daily evolution.
