This chapter aims to analyse the proofs about a topic hardly everknown: the legitimation of physical punishment in Hispanic medievalSchools and its context between the Last Antiquity and the consolidationof 12th century monastic Schools. For it, it will be used law and canonicalVisigoth sources, and hagiographical accounts, especially those related withpupil, oblates and disciple conditions under familiar and teacher surveillan-ce: from Prudentius ́Peristefanon until the san Rosendo ́s Life by Ordoñode Celanova
